LIBA Committees
Membership involvement in LIBA’s committees is a critical component of LIBA’s success and integral to our belief that LIBA is here for them, not because of them. Our committees are also the means by which the membership takes ownership of the organization.
Pillars, also known as columns, are fundamental for transferring the weight of a building’s structure, including roofs, ceilings, and beams, down to the foundation. If LIBA’s foundation is Supporting Small Business for a Better Lincoln – and the overall mission is Growth, LIBA’s committees are Pillars.
Every member of LIBA is welcome to attend our committee meetings – an invitation is not required.
Public Policy Committee
This committee is simply a group of business owners who get together and learn about what policy decisions are being made by the local governmental entities that impact their businesses. Led by Chair Cory Hoagstrom – LIBA’s Policy & Research Coordinator this group gets together once a month, usually over lunch, to take a deep dive in legislation affecting businesses that is being proposed by the City, County or Unicameral.
Nowhere else will you find the opportunity to participate in meetings like this!

Committee Chair
Community Access Committee
Not only that, but membership in LIBA affords you the opportunity to sit down and talk with the local officials making those decisions. Every month LIBA members have Contact Meetings (breakfast or lunch) with members of the City Council, the Mayor’s office, County Commissioners and School Board Members. These meetings provide valuable insight into each project.

Networking – Membership & Events Committee
This committee is the heartbeat of LIBA’s networking opportunities. Every month one of LIBA’s members hosts a morning Coffee & Contacts gathering. Similarly a LIBA member will host the monthly after hours BizNet.
These events give the event host the chance to showcase their business while LIBA members network.
This committee is also heavily involved in planning the annual Free Enterprise Celebration and various special events such as football tailgates, poker tournaments and chili contests.
This committee is a great way to start being more involved in LIBA activities.
